CALL FOR APPLICATION

Application for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) is now open. Closing date is on 28 February 2025

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) is a form of financial assistance extended by the Japanese government to developing countries. To assist needs of people in Namibia, Japan has the grant for projects proposed by regionally grounded organizations such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), schools and local governments.

In this scheme, this grant supports small-scale construction projects of 10 million yen or less per project, which is equivalent to US$ 66,666 (US$ 1/150 Japanese Yen).

In 1997, the GGP was first implemented in Namibia, and as of July 2024, it has funded over 90 projects nationwide. Although the main focus area of GGP in Namibia is on Education, other sectors such as health, agriculture, and social welfare are also very important for development of the Country, thus the GGP funds those projects as well.

Well, we would like to not only support your project but also contribute to self-sustaining development of your country, hoping that one day you would say: "Thank you very much for what you had done to us but it is no longer necessary".
